MAC "Dilute Phase" Vacuum Conveying

The approach of vacuum conveying is typically used to convey from multiple pick-up points to a single destination. The feeding of material into a pipeline having negative pressure making it relatively simple to use rotary valves, hopper, probe type wands, rail car hoppers, bag dump stations, bulk bag unloader or other feeding arrangements.
Vacuum system can also be set up with multiple receivers when appropriate. Example
These are considered low-pressure conveying using a positive displacement pump to provide vacuum up to 15" Hg. MAC offers complete blower packages from 5 to 500 HP based on the desired rate of conveying.
The receivers can be either a cyclone or a combination filter/receiver that is sized and rated to meet the system demands with an appropriate discharge valve. MAC manufactures a complete series of collector, rotary feeders and cyclones that can be customized to meet your exact specifications.
Advantages to Vacuum Dilute Phase Conveying
Multiple
pick-up points
System leakage is inward
No need to vent pick-up point
Low cost and maintenance
Simple
in design and operates on fairly simple controls.
Constant flow operation
Disadvantages to Vacuum Dilute Phase Conveying
Possible product degradation due to higher velocities
Limited in convey distance to approximately 400' or less
Alternative Types of Conveying
Vacuum
